Indonesia’s Livestock Industry 4.0
The LEP’s Dr Helen Fadma recently presented to a seminar held by Hanter IPB, the Association of Animal Science Graduates from Bogor Agricultural University. Indonesia understands that there are many challenges in the livestock sector, especially with the rising demand for protein, the rapid transformation of consumers, and the massive usage of technology. Helen introduced the importance of RFID usage in ensuring the traceability and control of Australian products, explaining the National Livestock Identification System (NLIS) and how the collection of data continues until cattle reach their market destination through the ESCAS system. She pointed out the NLIS can be easily linked with Indonesia’s ISHIKNAS, to monitor the cattle population and its health and breeding status.
